OBITUARY

Donald Robinson Stockbridge, pastor of New Gate Church in Sharpsburg, Ga., passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born February 22, 1948 in Tampa, Florida, Soon thereafter his parents moved to Massachusetts. Don received a call to the ministry at a young age and was graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Known for his quick wit and insightful understanding and presentation of the Scriptures, Don was committed to seeing people come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in grace. His mantra was “None sick, none broke.” For many years he was part of a team of ministry that traveled to churches around the world sharing the good news of the Kingdom of God. In 2006, Don became pastor of New Gate Church, and will be greatly missed by the congregation and his many friends throughout the world.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Stockbridge, son, Eric and his wife, Angela of Mesquite, Texas, daughter Alison and her fiancé Christopher Pepper of San Antonio, Texas and a son, Adam, of Sharpsburg; a brother, Steve Troynak of Sharpsburg, and his Half sister, Pat Dodds of Bradenton, Florida; step daughter Patrice Robinson, and her husband Joshua, and step grandchildren Elizabeth and Daniel Higgins of Chandler, Arizona, and stepson Chris Hogan of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
